Update from Death Cafe in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Merilynne Rush

There was an wonderful article in the NYTimes about Death Cafe this week! Check it out. I also got interviewed for a spot on WWJ radio in Detroit!

The word is spreading and more people are coming. Diana Cramer led the discussion last week in my absence (thank you!) and the topics were:
  • starting a new local green cemetery
  • hospital care (or lack thereof) of the dying
  • the messiness of birth and death
  • how the best laid plans can go awry
  • the strengths and weaknesses of hospice
  • how to introduce the topic of death and dying in planning ahead financially
  • the value of touching and spending time with the dead

People who came described the event as:
  • enlightening
  • passionate
  • informative
  • tender
  • honest
  • hopeful
  • caring...
Come join us! We meet the third Saturday of every month, 10 am to noon, at Crazy Wisdom in downtown Ann Arbor.

Peace,
Merilynne Rush
