Death Cafe in North Kingstown, Rhode Island with John Eastman, Ginny Eastman and Tony Silbert
You are invited to attend Rhode Island's first Death Café on Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at the Hive, 650 Ten Rod Rd., North Kingstown, RI 02852.
You might have read about the concept in the Providence Journal in April this year. Jon Underwood, a 40 year old with two children and living in London, started Death Café based on the work of Bernard Crettaz. The concept has spread from Ohio to Maine to California in the last few months.
The object of the Death Café is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. This is not a therapy group nor a support group. We will enjoy delicious food, beverages and a discussion about death. The discussion will be led by Tony Silbert, a trained facilitator and Ginny and I will be your waiters. There is no cost to attend but in order to plan for adequate food and beverages we will need to know how many are coming. Please RSVP. Questions are also welcomed.
